What do Health Trainers do and can they help people in communities? This film looks at the role of the Health Trainer and shows how they link up with other agencies and groups to provide an important support role in people's lives. The film was premiered in April at a Regional Health Trainers Conference at Magna to an audience of over 200 delegates. The film had a great response:

"Great idea to do a film - very valuable when promoting the service to public and professionals. We will be in contact with Wakefield as we will definitely be getting our own produced. Well done!"

The film provided entertainment and insight to hundreds of Health Professionals and food for thought with regards to the prescription of exercise. As a fresh way of communicating with the conference audience, the film provoked lively discussion and proved a valuable tool for evaluation of services.

Teens with Tots 24/7
Working with the Teenage Pregnancy Team we have produced two short films around the impact of change for new young parents. The first film is aimed at young people in schools and is lead by the participants and shares their stories with incredible honesty and openness. Another version of the film will be targeted at health professionals, youth workers and staff from statutory and third sector organisations working with teenagers. A series of launches and premieres are planned for November and December 2009.

Social Norms
Commissioned by the Teenage Pregnancy Unit this is an evidence based research project looking at young peoples attitudes to sexual health and well being. The perception of what young peoples peers are doing is questioned through campaigning in local high schools. The film is evidences research both quantitative through questionnaires and interviews and qualitative through creative interpretation and participation in the arts. The film will be screened at a series of launch events in November and distributed to High Schools in the New Year.
