Film Project with the National Centre for
Early Music
Our
first filming for NCEM took place in May for the NCEM Young Composers
Award presented in partnership with BBC Radio 3 and the Tallis Scholars.
Owain Park aged 16 from Bristol was the winner in the Under 18 category
and Alexander Campkin from London in the 18-25 years old category. We
will be working on an ongoing film project with NCEM throughout 2010/11.
Collaboration with Hemsworth Arts & Community College
A
new project supported by Creative Partnerships has begun with Year 7
pupils at Hemsworth. 'Meal or No Meal' sees students demonstrate their
cooking skills and food technology knowledge in a TV style programme
made by their fellow students. The film and live 'taste off' will be
launched in July.
TIMELINE update
Our exciting screen heritage
project has now brought in over 100 cine films capturing life throughout
the decades in Wakefield and beyond. Recent screenings in May were held
at Outwood Memorial Hall for the Outwood Community Video Group and then
at Wakefield Museum as part of the Wakefield Artwalk.

screenings in the Ridings Shopping Centre our film about the event is
now available.

The film captures the energy
and enthusiasm of organisations promoting local heritage across the
Wakefield District as well as showing people's growing interest in their
cultural identity and past. Copies of the film are available to
purchase or view online.
Generation X Change -
series of short films
Helping to
promote volunteering opportunities across Wakefield District we have
been filming Silver Surfer sessions including an inspiring project at
Kettlethorpe High School where students are helping older people find
their way around the internet. Filming will continue throughout the
summer on different aspects of volunteering for different age groups.
Tombridge Film Project

On going filming on Tombridge
Estate included a healthy family day, with lots of stalls and
opportunities to get involved in different activities, and residents,
community groups and workers enjoyed the day. The event marked the end
of environmental improvements by Groundwork on the estate. We will be
working on Tombridge throughout 2010/11 with a film screening being
planned for later in the year.
Me, Myself & MRI website now
live

Me, Myself and MRI explores
identity through a unique combination of science and art. The exhibition
features six interactive digital portraits consisting of MRI scan data,
video, audio and photographic portraits. They are the result of an
18-month education project that explored topics such as MRI technology,
ethics in science and art, portraiture and creative media technology.
The website, constructed and hosted by One to One Productions, provides supporting information for the exhibition and contains extensive educational resources.

are pleased to be working with such interesting and prolific cultural
heritage organisations on their new websites which will be launched
later this year. Shaping the Future - photographic
exhibition
Following the launch of our recent
films about Neighbourhood Management in Kinsley & Fitzwilliam we
have put together an exhibition of photographs from the project in
Kinsley Library. Copies of the film are available to borrow from the
Library or to purchase from One to One Productions.
